Lance Johnston
Lance was born and raised in New Cuyama, CA on his family’s cattle ranch. Lance started training colts for local ranchers at age 12. Through high school Lance participated in football and basketball. He was all star in both traveling to Australia on an all star team for basketball. After graduating from High School Lance went on to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where he got bachelor degree in animal science. While attending Cal Poly he met Tammy. After graduating from Cal Poly he decided to pursue his lifelong dream of training and showing cow horses.

Lance showed his first reined cow horse in 1995 and since then has had a total of 12 NRCHA snaffle bit futurity open finalist. Including last years 2007 NRCHA Res. Open champion Snaffle Bit Futurity horse Shes Ful Of Diamonds. Lance has made the finals at every major NRCHA event including the Worlds Greatest Horseman. Lances LTE exceed $400,000.

Lance, Tammy and their son Trystin own and operate Johnston Performance Horses in Lindsay, CA. Their facility consists of 30 acres of beautiful land in central California and offers a 20 stall training barn, 10 stall shed row, turn out pastures, 150x240 main arena, 150 round arena, training round corral and pasture land for grazing. Lance likes to keep between 20 and 30 horses in training and has buffalo and fresh cattle on hand.
